A “Tech Consult” is the first step in designing a network infrastructure that will meet your businesses needs today as well in the coming years. The basis of the “Tech Consult” is a review of your floor plans for your practice or business. We start with an overall view of the practice:
- What practice management software will you be using?
- Are you planning to be paperless? If so, to what level?
- Are you planning to use digital imaging?
- How many staff members will you have? What will be their responsibilities?
We then go room by room to discuss the various technology options that are available.
Business Office:
- Do you need high speed scanners, fax machines, printers, credit card machines?
- What type of call volume do you expect? How many incoming lines will you need? What type of phone system will fit your needs?
Operatories/Exam Rooms:
- Will you need computers in the rooms today? In future years as you adopt advanced technologies?
- What type of patient distraction or education is required?
- Will you require patient view monitors? If so, how and where will they be mounted?
- What type of digital imaging will you be using? Intraoral cameras, digial x-ray, etc.
Other areas included in the ”Tech Consult” are Break Rooms, Hallways, Lobbies, Consultation Rooms, Private Offices, yes even the restrooms should be considered.
When the consultation is completed, we produce a floorplan that show all of the locations where your technology will be placed. This includes what wires need to be run and where as well as how they should be terminated. We also include a listing of all equipment you will need for your finished project. This includes printers, scanners, computers, server, networking equipment, stereo, speakers, TVs and mounts. This overall plan can be used as a scope of work and a basis for gathering quotes from other contractors. We will also provide a cost estimate on these products and services that will be helpful to your bankers during the loan application and budgeting processes.
