In October of last year we set up Dr. Scraver’s new office in San Antonio Texas. Dr. Scraver took a very unique approach to the layout and design of his offices. With a focus on Pediatric Dentistry, Smile Structure is designed to make children comfortable in an environment that usually makes them a little fearful. The concept must be working because Dr Scraver has recently started construction on his second facility in south San Antonio. Dr Scraver will be incorporating many of the features from his current office at the new facility.

From the time you enter the front door, every detail says “Play land”. To the right of the check in desk the room is filled with a playscape and slide for the little ones. There are also two game consoles with age appropriate video games available for keeping children distracted. These custom cabinets were designed and built by Med-Tech Construction.

What really sets this lobby apart is the 25 seat movie theater complete with 5.1 surround sound and 1080p full HD video projector. Movie goers are treated to a wide range of movies choices thanks to an Apple TV system. To keep things secure, Datasavior installed all of the electronic components in the data closet at the rear of the building. All system controls are handled through an IR repeater located just above the movie screen.

Each of the operatories and treatment rooms have hand painted murals with meticulous details, each depicting scenes featuring the practice’s mascot, Andy, on his adventures. From a technology standpoint, Datasavior outfitted the treatment rooms with Dell Optiplex computers and patient view monitors. The patient view monitors are hooked to the same Apple TV system found in the movie theater. The Apple TVs allow patients to chose what movie they want to

watch. The system is flexible enough to allow viewers to watch the same show from different starting points. Additionally, since they are part of the overall network, you are able to stream video directly from the internet. Opening the possibility of YouTube, Netflix and many other viewing options. Of course, the patient view monitors are great tools for Dr. Scraver. They can be used to show intraoral pictures, x-rays and patient records. Most importantly, they can be used for patient education.

New to this office will be the addition of an Ortho bay with 4 chairs. Two consult rooms and an expanded front desk will round out the project. Connected to the space are the new corporate offices for Dr. Scraver’s business.

Our customers have come to rely on us to help them find reasonable solutions to their problems. I’m proud to work with such talented and smart people.

In this situation, one of our customers were faced with poor cell coverage in their new offices. Coverage was so poor that they had to stand next to windows on one side of the building in order to place calls. The solution we found was a distributed antenna system that pulls the signal into a repeater systems that includes signal boosters, combiners and distributed antennas which are strategically placed throughout their facility.

This particular system is best used for a small number of users but there are systems which are designed to handle many users. We have received word from the property managers that cell coverage has increased throughout the building. They have asked us to research a larger solution that can be used in both of their buildings. I’m hoping to add them to our current projects list soon.

The cabling team has completed Phase I of the Jones Energy relocation ...

The cabling team has completed Phase I of the Jones Energy relocation and has moved into the rough-in portion of Phase 2. Jones Energy is moving into new offices on the same floor they currently occupy at Las Cimas. This project is another referral from our good friends at Stream Realty. In order to keep Jones’ operations running smoothly, the project must be done in two phases. Phase I consists of approximately 120 Cat6 cables used for both voice and data. We are using standard 19″ Chatsworth racking and wire management. Phase II will consist of another 114 Cat6 cables and the removal of all of their abandoned cable.

Everyone should be this happy at work.

Jones Energy develops natural gas wells in the Texas Panhandle. They use state of the art technology such as horizontal drilling, PDC bits and 20 stage frac techniques to accomplish their goal of finding natural gas and bringing incremental gas to the market.

The general contractor for the project is Trimbuilt Construction, Inc. We always enjoy working for Trimbuilt. As one of the premier GC’s in Austin, they can be counted on to provide us with a safe and clean jobsite. Austin is the Onsite Superintendent for the project. When he gives you a schedule, you can bet that he will be right on. This trait is invaluable to subcontractors like ourselves. We have to know that when we put a project on the calendar that project will be ready for our arrival. Delays can cause other projects to fall behined. Since we are usually the last subcontractor on the project, the client is counting on us to have their network infrastructure in place and tested so that they can install their equipment and have the business up on Monday morning.

*****Update – Phase 1 of Jones Energy move is complete. Friday afternoon was a little on the hectic side getting d-marc extensions completed and adding some last minute Cat6 drops*****

In the Summer of 2008 we worked with Richard Galbraith, ...

In the Summer of 2008 we worked with Richard Galbraith, of Galbraith Construction, and Elizabeth Smith, Interior Designer, on the new offices of Pediatric Cardiology of Austin. For this project our scope of work was originally limited to installing Cat6 cable for the voice and data infrastructure. We helped Dr Byron Holt determine what his technology needs were today as well as where he saw the practice moving in the future. Based on our recommendations, he decided that it would be prudent to plan for the coming acceptance of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and add cabling to all of the exam rooms. The building that was being remodeled was quite old and we were needed to provide a little extra “consulting” to assure that proper services were being provided to the building. Towards the end of the project we contracted to provide and hang LCD TVs in a few locations around the office.

At the completion of the project, Dr Holt wrote a very warm letter of recommendation:

October 7, 2009

Dear Brett,

I wanted to personally send you this letter of recommendation following the completion of our recent construction project. Your participation in our vision to create a unique medical office was essential, and I’m certain that it was not easy considering the complexities involved in a renovation project such as ours. The ease with which you solved our data, voice and cabling issues was impressive, especially considering we were basically installing an entirely new infrastructure for the building. Your additional expertise in audio/visual needs for a medical space such as ours was an added bonus. Finally, your willingness, at your own suggestion, to meet with the other contractors to ensure proper integration of all components was invaluable and much appreciate.

I would wholeheartedly endorse you and your company to any business considering either new construction or a complicated remodel such as ours. Thank you very much for everything you have done for us.

Sincerely,

D. Byron Holt, MD

To Whom it May Concern:

We are so please to be asked to tell you about Data Savior and the work that they did for us. We started a dental practice from scratch in Kyle, Tx scheduled to open in December or January of 2007. Data Savior came and worked extensively with our contractor to ensure that all of the wiring and outlets were in the right places and working. We never had to stall the project to wait for them to install something. Our software and hardware have been seamlessly integrated including Dentrix, Digital X rays, and our digital camera.

When the walls were up finally, they came back and setup our Technology closet, It is so well organized and attractive that it is on my tour when I show off our office. People that know technology comment about what a nice job organizing wiring that they did.

Since the initial installation of our server, computers, printers, phone system we have continued to work with Brent, Brian, Adam, and John doing upgrades and improvements to our system. They are always easy to work with, on time, very professional and they clean up after themselves. They are quick to diagnose any problems and quick to find solutions to problems. For instance, one time Dentrix had a glitch in their month-end software programming that asked us to restore our data from the backup. Brian was able to perform this in about 5 minutes while he was on the phone and accessing our server remotely. They are very good at explaining the technology in a way that is understandable by us non-technological personnel.

We highly recommend them and look forward to many years of working with them.

Sincerely,
